It's really hard to describe how magical this place is. I went for a run, did a river cold plunge and then relaxed in the sauna while I watched the sunset. WHAT A DREAM.
There are very few places I would book twice but The McKenzie House deserves an annual trip. Showering outdoors and staring up at the towering redwoods is truly an experience unlike any other. I loved having a glass of whiskey while watching the sunset and waving to passing kayakers. Counting down the days until my next visit!
What a magical place! This little gem sitting on the waters edge was the perfect getaway for our 3-generation Memorial Day weekend. We were blown away by the beauty of the river. You felt like you were sitting on top of it in the living room. The sauna in the woods was to die for ! The place was clean, Tim was a super friendly host to work with and we had the best time. We would absolutely go back!!

It's somehow even better than we imagined. It feels like you step into another world. I will warn you that coming back to reality after staying at the McKenzie House is rough. Can't wait to go back in the winter!
I’ve stayed in many Airbnbs and Tim’s place was above and beyond most. The description does a good job detailing the breathtaking surroundings, luxurious amenities and tasteful decor.I was surprised by the comfortable access to literally everything we needed for the weekend like cooking oils, spices and fresh coffee. There were tons of lovely spots around the house to gather, plenty of spare blankets and towels and lots of recreational gear.We had a lovely weekend and will definitely book again.
